Staff Software Engineer - Reference Data - AI/ML (UK)

Overview

Addepar is seeking a Staff Software Engineer with an AI and machine learning background to join its Reference Data team. This position is located in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. The role focuses on managing data reconciliation and curation processes for market data providers to create a unified source of truth across public and alternative investment data products. The engineer will partner with product teams to architect, lead, and drive the execution of core AI capabilities that power the platform, transforming wealth technology with applied artificial intelligence.

Requirements

Applicants must hold and maintain the right to work in the United Kingdom starting on their first day of employment, as visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Candidates are required to have a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative or technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience. Essential qualifications include extensive software engineering experience and a proven track record of owning and shipping complex, production-grade systems alongside demonstrable experience or passion in shipping and maintaining AI-native products or features. Preferred qualifications include specific experience with large language models and agentic systems, hands-on familiarity with modern AI and large language model ecosystem technologies such as Databricks, Langchain, or MLFlow, an advanced understanding of probabilistic systems, and prior experience building AI products in accuracy-sensitive domains like finance.
