Finance Director - Retail Beauty
Overview
THG is a global ecommerce group aiming to be the online leader in beauty and sports nutrition, with retailers and brands including LOOKFANTASTIC, Myprotein, ESPA, Perricone MD and Cult Beauty and more than 2,500 employees. It is hiring a Finance Director for its Retail Beauty area, with the role described around the Nutrition division and brands including Myprotein, based in Manchester, United Kingdom. The Finance Director reports to the Commercial CFO and leads a multi-disciplinary finance team of up to 25 people.
The role has four main areas. In financial control and reporting, it owns the divisional month-end close across all Nutrition brands, builds and leads the Nutrition consolidation and group reporting process following the business separation, and ensures rigorous balance sheet governance. In commercial finance and performance management, it leads insight and analysis that challenges the P&L, delivers profit improvement and working capital initiatives, and oversees budgeting and forecasting including rolling twelve-month projections. In strategic leadership and business partnering, it supports major programmes such as international expansion, organisational transformation and business separation, partners with supply chain, trading and marketing, and works with group Tax, Treasury and Group Reporting. In team leadership and operations, it leads and develops the finance team and oversees day-to-day finance operations.
Requirements
THG requires a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant senior finance leadership experience in a complex international organisation, proven end-to-end ownership of P&L and balance sheet, and expertise in financial control, reporting, consolidation and compliance. Candidates need a track record in commercial finance covering profit improvement, cost management, working capital, budgeting and forecasting, credibility as a strategic partner to non-financial stakeholders, experience supporting initiatives such as international expansion, transformation or business separation, and strong people leadership. Experience in consumer goods, beauty, personal care or FMCG, international business models, ecommerce knowledge and a record of finance transformation are desirable.
