Overview

Ledger is a platform for digital assets and Web3 that secures more than 20 percent of the world's crypto assets through its hardware devices, with more than 7.5 million units sold in 200 countries. Headquartered in Paris, it has around 600 employees and offices in Vierzon, Grenoble, Montpellier, London, Portland, Geneva, Zurich and Singapore. It is hiring a full-time Staff Mechanical Engineer in Paris, France, to join the growing Ledger Devices team as a senior mechanical engineering lead, reporting to the head of engineering.

The engineer is responsible for all aspects of mechanical architecture for the next generations of secure hardware products. Duties include leading mechanical design and architecture choices, driving complex integration of components and structure, owning the CAD and integrating constraints from antenna, PCBA and connectors, and defining and validating reliability testing specifications. The role also drives moulds and tooling processes, owns executive relationships with key suppliers, leads design for manufacturing efforts and contract manufacturer delivery, and leads colour, material and finish definition at the intersection of product vision, industrial design and manufacturing constraints. The engineer prototypes and debugs devices in the lab, performs teardowns, builds and develops a team, and presents technical trade-offs to leadership.

Requirements

Ledger asks for at least seven years in consumer electronics or an industry where the skills transfer well, such as medical devices, wearables, telecom or IoT, and a track record of shipping devices to market and starting up tooling and processes at scale. Strong CAD skills in SolidWorks (preferred) or equivalent such as Creo or Onshape are needed, with a good grasp of GD&T and proficiency in arithmetic and statistical tolerance analysis and statistical process control studies. The company wants a practical, hands-on engineer who is comfortable troubleshooting in the lab and on the line, can lead and inspire others, and handles a fast-paced environment and uncertainty. Curiosity about crypto and blockchain is a big plus.

What you get

Benefits include a hybrid policy allowing work from home up to three times per week, health and life insurance, the chance to become a Ledger shareholder, a commuter allowance and a training programme. Country-specific benefits are explained by the talent acquisition contact.
