Staff Forward Deployed Engineer

Overview

Lovable is seeking a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer to join the team in London, United Kingdom. This hands-on software engineering position involves working directly with customers to turn ambitious ideas into real products and helping build out the founding Forward Deployed Engineer function. Candidates may be required to travel up to 50 percent of the time depending on needs.

Who can apply

Applicants must have at least 8 years of hands-on experience building and shipping production software. Candidates need extensive software engineering skills across the application stack with a track record of writing maintainable, well-tested code, alongside strong architectural thinking and familiarity with distributed systems. Additional qualifications include the ability to prototype rapidly, exceptional product intuition, and comfort operating with high ambiguity, agency, and end-to-end ownership.

What you do

The role combines working close to the product and close to the customer. Responsibilities include working directly with users to understand workflows, turning ambiguous requirements into technical designs, and designing, coding, testing, deploying, and operating solutions across frontend and backend systems. Engineers in this role will debug complex issues across application, infrastructure, and AI boundaries, translate usage insights into foundational platform improvements, and help shape the engineering standards and playbooks for the function.
