Software Engineer II, Fullstack (International)
Overview
Affirm offers consumers a clear, predictable way to pay over time with no hidden fees. Its International Accelerator Engineering team is a full-stack team located entirely in Europe within the same time zone, building direct-to-consumer products, including the Affirm App, for Canada, the UK and future international markets. The company is hiring a Software Engineer II, Fullstack, working remotely in the United Kingdom.
The team ships code to production for millions of users across geographies and measures its impact, and the role rewards curiosity, ownership, context switching and a builder's mindset, with a constant search for ways to use AI to boost productivity. With support from the tech lead and manager, the engineer breaks larger projects into tasks and delivers them in phases, collaborates with product management, design and analytics on ideation and technical trade-offs, supports operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics and taking part in on-call work, and contributes to team community activities such as the interview process.
Requirements
Affirm looks for at least 1.5 years of software engineering experience, experience shipping web apps with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue, and experience designing, developing and launching APIs at scale in languages such as Python or Kotlin. Candidates should be able to turn a business scenario into a solution across multiple software components with clear, well-tested, extensible code, navigate large code bases, debug others' code and give code review feedback, take ownership of their growth and communicate well in a global engineering team.
What you get
The base pay range is 101,000 to 149,000 pounds per year, as part of a package that may include equity, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits such as fully subsidised medical, dental and vision cover for employees and dependents. Affirm is remote-first, with an in-person onboarding experience for all new hires, and offers flexible time off and an employee stock purchase plan.
