Senior Manager, Product Design - Security
Overview
Datadog is an observability and security platform that brings applications, infrastructure, data, models and security into one place. Its Security design team is hiring a Senior Manager, Product Design for Security in Paris, France, to lead design across its security products. These are aimed at a newer kind of user, security practitioners who need to catch threats where they start, stop them when they land and close exposures before they become worse. Datadog operates as a hybrid workplace.
The manager leads designers at various career stages across cloud, code and data security, turning a large volume of signal into something a security team can act on. The goal is a security product people want to spend their day in. The manager owns the design, sets a high bar and works closely with Product and Engineering leadership.
Responsibilities include leading design direction and holding the bar for interactions, visual detail and consistency, running critiques and giving direct feedback to push for bolder solutions, coaching designers across the Paris, Madrid and New York offices, helping define a security design system built on Datadog's existing components, partnering with Product and Engineering on roadmaps and ways of working, taking accountability for the product and business outcomes design influences, and bringing AI fluency to how the team explores, validates and ships design.
Requirements
Datadog asks for ten or more years in design, including leading and growing high-performing teams, and a design leader who advocates for users, has strong taste and is willing to work hands-on. Candidates should show before-and-after examples of how their leadership improved a product, have led complex products or features from zero-to-one or reimagining established ones, communicate well with executives and cross-functional stakeholders, show AI fluency and be comfortable with the technical complexity of modern software and cloud infrastructure. Security domain experience or a portfolio of information-dense, data-rich interfaces is ideal, though strong work on complex B2B, B2C or consumer products counts as well.
What you get
Benefits include product training, internal mobility, a mentor and buddy programme, Community Guilds, new hire stock equity and an employee stock purchase plan, free global mental health benefits for employees and dependents aged six and over, and other global benefits that may vary by country.
