Senior Data Journalist

Overview

GWI is a data company that is hiring a Senior Data Journalist for its PR and Corporate Communications team in London, United Kingdom. The position is permanent and hybrid, with two days a week in the office.

The role is to interrogate GWI data and turn it into commercially useful, editorially punchy narratives that show the value of the company's solutions across key personas, verticals and companies, supporting its positioning in AI-powered insights. Responsibilities include supporting media pitches and enquiries with data points, partnering with Marketing and PR on narratives for events, and working with the Head of Comms on industry-wide data story tracking and press trend monitoring. The journalist also identifies thought-leadership themes with Marketing, company leaders and the Insights team, builds bespoke data stories for high-value accounts to support account-based marketing and demand generation, and delivers presentations, white papers, reports, podcasts, interviews, op-eds and joint pieces with clients or partners. All thought leadership should show return on investment for target audiences, and the person represents GWI at conferences, client events, panels and round tables and occasionally acts as a press spokesperson.

Requirements

GWI looks for expert analysis and storytelling that turns data into insights addressing media enquiries and client challenges, adaptability across audiences from research specialists to commercial leaders, and experience in PR strategy and media relations. Strong presentation and writing skills are needed, including leading hour-long sessions and handling difficult questions. The role also calls for deep experience with quantitative research methods, mastery of GWI data and software, an understanding of the competitive landscape, and the ability to run thought-leadership creation independently.
