Quality Manager- Manufacturing Operations
Overview
Fractile was founded in 2022 to rebuild the hardware that runs frontier AI models, so that large models can generate output at thousands of tokens per second even with very long contexts. It has raised 220 million dollars from investors including Founders Fund and Accel. The company is hiring a full-time Quality Manager for Manufacturing Operations, based in Bristol, United Kingdom, as a key member of the Manufacturing Operations team.
The role drives the development of business management systems and product, supplier, software and customer quality initiatives, assessing processes and technologies to find quality gaps and propose practical solutions. Responsibilities include defining the quality strategy, policy and objectives aligned with the product roadmap, building a quality team covering supplier, product, reliability, software and systems quality, reporting quality performance to executives, and establishing document control, change control, CAPA, internal audit, training and records processes. The manager embeds quality gates into new product introduction, owns quality across the supply chain including wafer foundry, assembly and packaging, test, PCB and system-level contract manufacturers, and leads supplier selection, qualification, audits and performance management.
On software, the manager works with engineering leaders on quality standards across drivers, firmware, compilers, SDKs and runtime, sets release criteria and defect processes, and brings in secure development and supply chain practice including SBOMs. The role is the senior contact for customer quality, audits and escalations, leads RMA and complaint handling with root cause analysis and 8D responses, and ensures compliance with RoHS, REACH, WEEE, conflict minerals reporting, UKCA and CE marking, and safety and EMC standards.
Requirements
Fractile asks for significant quality experience in semiconductors or electronics hardware, including building and leading a quality function, and direct experience managing quality through outsourced manufacturing. Deep ISO 9001 knowledge, working knowledge of semiconductor qualification and reliability (JEDEC) and failure analysis, fluency in 8D, FMEA, control plans, SPC, MSA and root cause analysis, experience with demanding customer escalations, and a degree in electrical or electronic engineering, materials science, physics or a related field are required. International travel, including to Asia and the US, is expected. Fabless company experience, high-performance compute or AI hardware background and relevant certifications are desirable.
