Overview

Kaluza is an Energy Intelligence Platform that orchestrates real-time decisions across homes, devices, markets and grids, with teams across Europe, Asia and Australia and a joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation in Japan. It is hiring a permanent Pre-Sales Solutions Architect in its Commercial team, based in London or Bristol, United Kingdom, reporting to the Head of Client Solutions. The working pattern is hybrid, with three days a week in the office and travel to client sites as required.

The role sits between technology and commercial strategy, shaping how prospective clients understand and adopt the platform. Working with Pre-Sales Consultants, the architect leads the technical side of sales engagements, from deep-dive sessions on architecture and data models through solution design to handover to implementation teams at contracting. Tasks include leading discovery workshops and defining each client's target architecture and integration patterns, estimating work packages, giving technical input to tenders and proposals, shaping proof-of-concept exercises with Pre-Sales Engineering, and acting as the bridge between market demand and engineering so client needs inform the roadmap. The architect also advises clients on achieving measurable business outcomes and helps quantify the platform's value.

Requirements

Kaluza wants a technologist with a strong business focus who can run deep technical sessions with architects and set out a clear strategic vision for senior executives. Ideal candidates have delivered complex enterprise software implementations and have architected systems, including some of AWS solutions, finance and billing platforms, and API technologies such as GraphQL and webhooks. Experience in regulated energy retail, particularly billing, metering and settlements, is valued, as are exceptional communication skills, an analytical customer-centred approach and comfort with ambiguity. Experience architecting SaaS in the energy industry, designing large-scale systems, or working with a large energy retailer will set candidates apart.

What you get

The salary is 94,000 to 117,000 GBP plus a discretionary bonus. Perks include 26 days holiday plus 8 flexible bank holiday days, 26 weeks of full pay for new parents, private medical insurance with a virtual GP, life assurance, a pension scheme, free mortgage advice and eye tests, a Flex Fund of 5 percent of salary, and learning and home office budgets.

Who can apply

The role requires an existing right to work in the UK, and Kaluza cannot offer visa sponsorship for it. Applicants who do not tick every box are still encouraged to apply.
