Overview

Kinship is seeking a Fundraising Manager to strengthen its fundraising programme and secure vital income to support kinship carers and the children they raise across England and Wales. The registered charity provides advice, peer support, and research, while also working through policy and campaigning to improve recognition and support for kinship families.

Who can apply

Applicants should demonstrate a successful track record of securing six-figure funding from trusts, foundations, and the National Lottery, alongside experience in developing funding pipelines and identifying new prospects. Candidates must possess excellent written communication and bid-writing skills, strong relationship-building abilities, numeracy and financial management skills, strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams. Previous line management experience, experience working in children's social care or a social care charity, familiarity with Salesforce, marketing and communications experience, and personal experience of kinship care are considered advantageous.

What you get

The position offers a salary of £45,491 to £48,491 per year, depending on experience, which includes London weighting where applicable and is adjusted proportionately for flexible part-time working. Kinship also provides flexible working, learning and development opportunities, employee wellbeing support, and the chance to work with a team based remotely while supporting families across England and Wales.

Requirements

Applicants must submit a CV and a cover letter of no more than two pages explaining how their knowledge, skills, and experience meet the role requirements, along with their notice period or earliest availability to start. Candidates are explicitly instructed not to use AI tools such as ChatGPT to produce their application answers. First-stage interviews are held online, while the second-stage interview takes place in person at Kinship's London headquarters.

Key dates

Applications close at 9:00 am on Monday, 2 November 2026, though recruitment takes place on a rolling basis and the vacancy may close early.
