Overview
The Center for Victims of Torture is seeking a Regional Strategic Partnerships Officer to strengthen institutional partnerships and mobilize resources for programs across East Africa and the Middle East. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on fundraising and partnership development, focusing on foundations, government agencies, multilateral donors, corporations, and civil society organizations. Approximately 35% of the position is dedicated to regional partnership development and prospecting, 35% to opportunity development and proposal collaboration, and 20% to stewardship, learning, and systems. The position requires travel to various locations within East Africa and the Middle East, along with extensive computer-based work involving virtual meetings across different time zones.
Who can apply
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in international development, business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience. Candidates need at least three years of progressively responsible experience in institutional fundraising, grant writing, and proposal or business development, along with demonstrated success in securing funding from institutional donors such as foundations, government agencies, or multilateral funders. Additional requirements include experience facilitating cross-departmental teams and managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects. Fluency in English and Arabic, and other regional languages where required, is expected. A master’s degree and background with U.S., European, and multilateral funders, international NGOs, human rights organizations, or trauma-informed service organizations are considered advantageous.
