Junior Product Designer - UI/UX
Overview
Ethon is an Industrial AI company that builds agentic workflows to help manufacturers improve cost, quality and speed of production. Its customers include Siemens, Bosch, Lindt and Roche, and it is backed by investors such as Index Ventures, General Catalyst and Earlybird. The company is hiring a full-time Junior Product Designer for UI and UX in Zurich, Switzerland.
The designer joins a small design team and works directly with engineers, turning complex manufacturing data into interfaces that factory teams use every day. At first the focus is on UI: building screens, components and flows for the platform and helping the design system grow. Over time the person takes on larger parts of the product end to end. Tasks include turning flows and concepts into detailed, production-ready screens, maintaining components in Figma and keeping them in line with code, pairing with developers and reviewing builds, joining customer calls and factory visits, and occasionally helping with website updates, sales decks and marketing visuals.
Requirements
Ethon wants curious people who are eager to learn, and says it can teach manufacturing, the product and complex B2B software design. Candidates need fluent English, comfort with changing priorities, and one to three years of professional experience designing digital products, where internships and working-student roles count if real work shipped. Strong UI craft, hands-on experience with a design system, and fluency in Figma including components, variants, auto layout and variables are required, along with comfort using AI tools for quick iterations. Designers should understand enough frontend to design buildable things and be able to explain and defend their decisions. Experience with B2B SaaS, dashboards or data-heavy products is a bonus.
What you get
The office is in central Zurich, with three days a week in person and significant scope for flexible schedules. Benefits include performance-based career paths, competitive pay with stock options, a vacation bonus for taking two consecutive weeks off, flexible parental leave and a learning budget. The designer works alongside two senior designers with regular critiques.
How to apply
Applicants submit a CV and a portfolio with two to three case studies, at least one showing detailed UI work, noting what they did themselves and what the team did. The interview process includes a short on-site design challenge.
