Junior Android Engineer

Overview

Trainline is hiring a Junior Android Engineer to join the technology department within one of the three mobile platform teams. The organization serves as a leading independent rail platform in Europe, helping travellers find and book rail and coach journeys to empower greener travel choices. The role is based in Barcelona, operating on a hybrid model where employees work from the office a minimum of sixty percent of the time over a twelve-week period, alongside a remote work mode option and a twenty-eight-day work-from-abroad policy.

Who can apply

Candidates must have good working experience with Kotlin, a passion for continuous delivery, and enthusiasm for user experience. Applicants need experience working with Git and a solid grasp of design patterns, SOLID and clean code principles, and continuous integration and continuous deployment.

Requirements

Engineers participate in cross-functional teams to design and implement software for Android users, working closely with product teams to drive and deliver roadmaps. Responsibilities include building software using agile practices such as scrum with two-week iterations, continuous integration, and pair programming, as well as delivering new functionalities throughout the product lifecycle using clean code practices.
