Overview

Eh Group Engineering is offering a full-time position for a Functional Safety Engineer located in Nyon, Switzerland. The role focuses on embedding safety into fuel cell systems, leading hazard analysis and safety engineering across hardware, software, and controls to ensure products are safe, compliant, and certifiable. Candidates must be prepared to relocate for this position, as remote or hybrid arrangements are not available, and visa sponsorship may be offered for suitable candidates.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in electrical, electronic, mechatronic, control, or safety engineering and possess three to five years of functional safety experience in industrial, energy, or hydrogen systems. The position requires working knowledge of safety standards such as IEC 61508, ISO 13849, ISO 26262, and IEC 62061, alongside hands-on experience with hazard and risk analyses including HARA, FMEA, FMEDA, and FTA. Candidates need an understanding of safety-related hardware, embedded software, and control architectures, as well as mandatory fluency in spoken and written English. Additional assets include familiarity with hydrogen, high-voltage, or pressure system safety, knowledge of French or German, and functional safety certifications like TÜV FSEng.
