Director of Sales
Overview
QuantWare builds quantum processors and says its VIO technology is the only QPU architecture that breaks the hardware barriers holding back quantum computing, opening a path to MegaQubit processors. It is expanding its commercial team and is hiring a full-time Director of Sales in Delft, Netherlands, to lead the sales team and drive global revenue growth.
The director is responsible for the team meeting quarterly sales targets, working with internal production stakeholders so customer delivery commitments are met, and developing a high-performing sales organisation. Revenue work involves developing and executing sales plans across a global customer base, working with account managers, Product and Business Development, overseeing forecasting and reporting on bookings and revenue. Sales typically arise from new government-funded quantum compute platforms at research and academic institutions, with long and complex cycles of around twelve months that rely on relationships with research labs and ecosystem partners.
Leadership duties include training, mentoring and recruiting a sales team of three to five people, setting goals for field application engineers who provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support, and working with Business Development leadership on strategic accounts and government tenders. The team also acts as the voice of the customer inside the company, passing on feedback on delivery, product performance and changing requirements, and the director leads pricing negotiations with account management and Product Management.
Requirements
QuantWare asks for five or more years of sales experience in a technical or deep-tech industry and three or more years building and leading sales teams. Experience with a partner ecosystem including value-added resellers, systems integrators and distributors is expected, along with the technical credibility to engage customers, partners and the quantum ecosystem and work with Product and Engineering leaders. A bachelor's degree is required, with electrical engineering, applied physics, computer science or a related field strongly preferred.
