Overview

SumUp is offering a Working Student position in Executive Talent Sourcing in Berlin, for 20 hours per week. The Executive Recruiting team finds the senior leaders who help build a global company trusted by more than 4 million businesses. Because the best senior talent rarely applies through a job board, each search relies on solid market research, curiosity and some detective work.

The working student learns this craft hands-on, working closely with the Executive Recruiter to find candidates for some of the company's most important hires, often before they are looking for a new role. It is described as a structured and supported route into Executive Recruiting and broader Talent Acquisition.

What you will do

Tasks include researching and mapping candidates for senior and strategic leadership roles using public professional networks, the internal database and other sources, shadowing the Executive Recruiter on live searches to see what makes a strong leadership candidate, and keeping candidate records accurate and up to date. The working student also shares clear, structured updates on search progress in weekly check-ins with hiring teams and helps test new sourcing channels and ideas.

Who can apply

The team looks for genuine curiosity about people and what makes someone the right fit for a role, shown through previous jobs, research projects, coursework, volunteer work or self-directed learning. Persistence, attention to detail and a record of keeping structured, accurate records are important, as are the ability to manage deadlines and multiple tasks, openness to feedback and ease in picking up new tools. Previous exposure to sourcing or CRM tools is a bonus, and full training is provided.

What you get

Benefits include work with colleagues globally on fintech products from the Berlin office at Ostbahnhof, 28 days of paid leave pro-rated plus public holidays and special leave days, an employee assistance programme, an Urban Sports Club subsidy, on-site gym access, yoga and team sports, a subsidised Deutschlandticket, partly subsidised office lunches, a weekly breakfast and a referral reward programme.
