Overview

The Emerging Leaders Programme is a six-month leadership development initiative designed to strengthen leadership capacity, promote personal growth, and equip professionals to drive change within their organisations and communities. Delivered in collaboration with the HAUS Finnish Institute of Public Management and organized by UONGOZI Institute, the programme features six modules facilitated by internationally recognised leadership development experts. The curriculum focuses on deepening self-awareness, cultivating resilience, adopting a growth mindset, and developing skills to inspire and mobilise others. The delivery approach consists of 85% e-learning and 15% face-to-face sessions, combining flexible online learning with in-person meetings. The tuition fee is TZS 2.6 million per participant, which can be paid in two instalments of 50% prior to registration in November and before Module 4 in February. A limited number of merit-based scholarships are available for eligible applicants with strong leadership potential and professional achievement.

Who can apply

The programme is open to mid-level executives working across all sectors in Africa who hold supervisory, managerial, or leadership responsibilities and are committed to strengthening their leadership effectiveness. Applicants must have at least one year of supervisory, managerial, or leadership experience alongside a minimum of five years of professional work experience. Candidates are also required to hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification, possess a good command of written and spoken English, and demonstrate excellent computer skills.
