WWF Administrative Assistant Job 2026: Senior Assistant, Forests Opportunity in Washington, DC
Overview
World Wildlife Fund is hiring a full-time Senior Assistant, Forests in Washington, DC, to support its Forest Team. The assistant supports senior leaders and several groups within the team, including the Team Management Unit and the Amazon, Infrastructure and Congo Basin teams. The pay range is USD 28.35 to USD 35.44 per hour. WWF works in more than 100 countries with communities, companies and governments to protect wildlife and habitats.
Duties centre on calendar management for the Forest Leadership Team, organizing meetings and appointments, and supporting presentation series, annual retreats and special events. The assistant also processes credit card transactions, invoices and reimbursements, coordinates financial coding with accounting colleagues, tracks payments in Workday, and helps start consultancy, travel and grant agreements through SmartSimple. Further tasks include managing the team intranet and document sites on SharePoint and Microsoft Teams, arranging travel for senior leaders, ordering supplies, greeting visitors and providing basic IT support.
Requirements
Candidates need a high school diploma and at least five years of progressively responsible administrative, clerical or office experience; a bachelor's degree is highly preferred. Experience with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft 365 and video-conferencing tools such as Zoom and Teams. Experience with Workday, SmartSimple, SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Forms and Airtable is preferred, as are financial processing, event planning and basic IT support skills.
Organization, time management, attention to detail, communication, adaptability, initiative and reliability are emphasized, along with the ability to work independently.
What you get
At 40 hours per week the range equals roughly USD 58,968 to USD 73,715 a year before taxes. Relocation assistance is not provided, and the role is not eligible for visa sponsorship, so applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States.
