WWF Head of Fellowship Experience Job 2026: Leadership and Conservation Opportunity in the USA
Overview
WWF is seeking a Head of Fellowship Experience to shape the Boundless Fellowship, a programme that develops the next generation of conservation leaders by bringing together early- and mid-career conservationists across disciplines and borders. The role is full-time and based in Washington, D.C., with a hybrid arrangement. The listed salary is US$101,000 to US$145,100 per year.
The post holder designs and leads experiences that connect Fellows with one another, mentors, communities and important landscapes, turning a two-year Fellowship into a lasting community. The work involves both in-person and virtual engagement and close collaboration with the Executive Director.
What you get
The role is eligible for domestic U.S. relocation. International travel is expected to take about 25 percent of working time and may include remote landscapes.
Who can apply
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, as the position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
Requirements
Candidates need a bachelor's degree and at least eight years of professional experience in conservation, social impact or related fields, including at least three years in leadership development, facilitation, mentorship, education or programme management. WWF wants proven success designing, facilitating and delivering high-profile leadership programmes for accomplished professionals. Experience building fellowship communities or alumni networks is strongly preferred, and experience with diverse communities and cross-cultural settings is valued.
The role calls for big-picture thinking, cross-cultural communication, collaboration, community building, creativity, adaptability and learning agility. Advanced Spanish or Portuguese is highly desirable, and candidates should be comfortable with Zoom and Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
Key duties include designing and leading immersive Boundless Encounters that combine leadership, ecology and community in landscapes such as the Amazon, the Northern Great Plains and Brazil's Cerrado, curating virtual sessions between gatherings, mentoring Fellows, and building an active alumni network whose members may later act as mentors, collaborators and hosts for future cohorts.
How to apply
Candidates apply through WWF's recruitment platform. Their materials should clearly show leadership-programme design, facilitation, mentorship, programme management and cross-cultural collaboration experience.
