CARE-WWF Alliance Internship 2026: Climate, Gender and Research Opportunity
Overview
CARE is offering an unpaid, part-time CARE-WWF Alliance Internship supporting the CARE-WWF Alliance and the CARE Resilient Futures team. The placement is in the United States, with Atlanta, Georgia, and Washington, DC, as possible locations. The proposed period runs from 1 September to 10 December 2026, at about 10 to 20 hours per week, and exact dates may be set according to the intern's availability. English is the stated language requirement.
CARE is an international humanitarian and development organization working in more than 100 countries. The CARE-WWF Alliance combines CARE's experience in poverty reduction and women's agency with WWF's conservation expertise, working at the intersection of development and conservation to support ecosystems, communities and women whose livelihoods depend on natural resources.
The intern has two main priorities. The first is building a landscape resource and database of organizations working where climate and women's empowerment meet. This involves researching organizations, networks and initiatives in climate and gender equity, nature finance, women's financial inclusion and conservation governance, noting each one's focus, geographic coverage and relevance as a funder, partner or peer, organizing the findings into a searchable database and writing a short summary of trends, gaps and possible partnership or fundraising links.
The second is research and communications support on nature finance, gender equity and climate resilience, feeding into proposals, briefs, strategy documents and program materials. The intern may help draft and edit LinkedIn content, talking points and internal updates, fact-check, source information for funder and partner materials, and provide light data and document synthesis.
Requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, is desired. Candidates should be comfortable researching, organizing information, reviewing documents, finding reliable sources and communicating findings clearly, with attention to detail and the ability to handle several tasks.
What you get
This internship is unpaid and is intended for academic credit or volunteer experience. Interns gain exposure to development and conservation programming, including organizational research, database development, climate and gender analysis, communications and fact-checking.
