Overview

UNICEF is seeking a Systems Helpdesk and Rollout Consultant for its Organizational Performance and Corporate Systems Unit, part of the Programme Effectiveness Team in the Office of Strategy and Evidence. The 12-month consultancy is listed as Florence, Italy and remote with travel. The unit looks after corporate systems used across UNICEF offices, including eTools modules, inSight, RAM and UNITE, CPX and UNICARE, which serve tens of thousands of internal and external users.

The consultant provides first- and second-line support, resolves and routes requests received through Service Gateway, supports releases and rollouts, prepares release communications and onboarding activities, and develops user guidance. The role also includes delivering webinars, clinics and training, monitoring system adoption across offices, analysing support and adoption data, spotting recurring issues, passing clear product feedback to project managers and product owners, and escalating issues that need code changes or product decisions.

Requirements

Applicants need a master's degree in information systems, software development, business administration, international development, social sciences or a related field, and at least five years of experience in user support, service desk or application support for enterprise systems. Experience with rollout, onboarding or training for geographically distributed users is required, as is familiarity with UNICEF's country programme cycle, partnership management and programme effectiveness frameworks.

Technical expectations include IT service management platforms such as ServiceNow or similar, advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio, and collaboration tools such as SharePoint, Teams and Viva Engage. Power BI, Tableau and data pipelines are assets, as are programme risk management, safeguarding and monitoring knowledge, experience in developing-country or emergency settings, and experience applying AI in digital products. Fluent English is required, and another UN language or a local language is a strong asset.

How to apply

Applications go through UNICEF's Talent Management System. Candidates need an up-to-date profile, a CV, a cover letter and a separate financial proposal using the UNICEF template. UNICEF charges no processing fee and does not ask applicants for bank account information.
