UNICEF Administrative Assistant Job 2026: G-4 Opportunity in Cambodia
Overview
The UNICEF Cambodia Country Office in Phnom Penh is recruiting an Administrative Assistant on a G-4 Fixed Term Appointment. The post provides administrative, secretarial and operational support to an assigned unit within the office's Operations and Administration function.
The assistant keeps the unit running smoothly by handling correspondence, emails and telephone calls, maintaining physical and digital filing systems, managing calendars, arranging meetings and preparing minutes. The role also supports conferences and capacity-development activities, covering logistics, communication with participants, coordination with budget focal points and preparation of materials.
Travel and finance tasks are a large part of the work. The assistant helps staff with travel arrangements and entitlements, keeps travel records and supports travel budgets. Invoice processing includes collecting invoices, preparing them for approval, entering transactions in UNICEF's VISION system, uploading electronic files and answering transaction queries. The post also covers office supplies, equipment, inventory updates, purchases and distribution.
Requirements
Applicants need completed secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the work, and at least four years of relevant experience in areas such as administration, operations, meetings, travel, logistics, invoicing, records management, procurement support or stakeholder communication. A relevant bachelor's degree can replace three years of experience, and a master's degree can replace a further two.
Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, time-management and customer-service skills are expected, together with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Fluency in English and Khmer is required. Knowledge of asset management, previous UN experience and an additional UN language such as French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese or Russian are desirable.
