Overview

WeWorld is inviting experienced professionals to apply for the Head of Support Services roster, which provides short-term and medium-term deployments across various countries based on programme needs. The roster is designed to supply leadership and operational support for finance, human resources, logistics, and procurement during periods of increased operational need or unexpected staffing gaps. Inclusion in the roster does not guarantee an immediate or future assignment, and the roster remains active for the ongoing year with the possibility of renewal by mutual agreement.

The Head of Support Services reports to the Country Representative to coordinate main support functions within a country programme. Responsibilities include leading support teams, aligning departmental priorities with programme requirements, and ensuring that internal policies, standard operating procedures, and operational manuals are implemented and updated. Financial duties involve overseeing accounting, financial reporting, country budgets, project budget preparation, expenditure monitoring, and supporting audits, expenditure verifications, spot checks, and donor assessments. Additional duties cover supervising logistics and procurement, managing assets, vehicles, warehouses, stocks, and operational bases, overseeing human resources processes, and identifying operational risks and corruption-prevention measures.

Who can apply

Applicants must hold a degree in Economics, Political Science, or a related field, alongside at least four years of professional experience in similar positions. Candidates need proven experience managing finance, human resources, logistics, and procurement functions within international cooperation or humanitarian environments, including background in budgeting, financial reporting, donor compliance, procurement, and audit processes. Strong knowledge of administrative rules and procurement procedures used by major international donors, such as ECHO, the European Union, the United Nations, and AICS, is required.

Candidates must demonstrate strong management, planning, reporting, monitoring, and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate and train multidisciplinary teams, identify operational risks, and work independently under pressure in rapidly changing humanitarian environments. Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory. Italian and additional languages including French, Arabic, Portuguese, Ukrainian, Pashto, Farsi, or Swahili are considered desirable.

What you get

Selected professionals receive compensation in alignment with the organisation’s expatriate compensation policy, featuring a base salary ranging from €3,190 to €3,790 gross per month. Additional contributions are provided to reflect the complexity and hardship level of the assigned duty station. Further benefits include health insurance, covered flight tickets, and coverage for visa and work permit costs.

Key dates

The application deadline is 6 November 2026. Applicants are encouraged to apply early, as the recruitment process may close prior to the stated deadline if a suitable candidate is identified.

How to apply

Interested candidates must prepare a curriculum vitae and a cover letter, then submit their application through the organisation's recruitment platform.
