Overview

Effaced Inc. is offering two to three remote internship positions for entry-level professionals and recent graduates seeking practical experience in international development and humanitarian assistance consulting. The program lasts for three to four months, requiring a time commitment of at least 20 hours per week, and operates as an unpaid internship. Interns will report to the Chief Executive Officer and receive direct, tailored mentorship while gaining exposure to business development, proposal preparation, research, project support, and consulting operations. The work focuses primarily on global health, along with engagement in food security, gender, and livelihood development in low- and middle-income countries.

Who can apply

Applicants must have a completed bachelor’s degree, with preferred academic backgrounds in global health, food security, gender and development, foreign relations, public health, agriculture, economics, evaluation, or related fields. Candidates are required to have proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, strong desktop research skills, an understanding of the foreign assistance context, an interest in the organization's core focus areas, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Additional requirements include the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail and organizational skills, an inclusive approach to working with people from different sociocultural backgrounds, fluency in written and spoken English at Native or C1 level or above, and a willingness to take ownership and demonstrate accountability. Effaced particularly values candidates with experience living or working in a low- or middle-income country, familiarity with infectious diseases, pandemic preparedness, vaccines, nutrition, monitoring and evaluation, or United Nations humanitarian agencies such as the World Food Programme. Knowledge of additional languages is desirable, with French particularly valued and Arabic considered an added advantage.

What you get

Interns gain substantive professional exposure and direct mentorship from the Chief Executive Officer tailored to their professional interests and career aspirations. Selected individuals will support business development and research by conducting desk research to identify opportunities matching the organization's capabilities, preparing proposals and concept notes for Notices of Funding Opportunity, researching donor landscapes, analyzing competitors, and identifying potential teaming partners. Project and evaluation support responsibilities involve conducting background research, organizing project materials, tracking inputs, coordinating information, and supporting internal workflows. Proposal coordination duties include preparing and managing data calls for consortium partners, tracking submissions, maintaining proposal management tools, and supporting technical whiteboarding. Additional opportunities include drafting weekly social media content, copy editing, formatting client materials, drafting job descriptions, screening applicants, maintaining time-tracking records, and performing quantitative or qualitative data analysis using tools such as SPSS, Stata, R, Atlas.ti, Tableau, or Power BI.
