Staff Engineer - Data Platform Experience

Overview

Datadog is hiring a Staff Engineer for the Data Platform Experience team. This position is located in Paris, France, operating under a hybrid workplace model. The role involves shaping how engineering teams build, operate, and evolve products on the Observability Data Platform by leading the design and delivery of shared platform capabilities.

Requirements

Candidates need experience in designing and building large-scale software as a service or cloud platforms, supported by deep expertise in distributed systems. Applicants should possess strong software architecture and system design abilities, a platform engineering mindset, and communication skills capable of influencing technical direction across organizational boundaries. The role requires familiarity with backend technologies such as Java and Go, alongside distributed infrastructure tools including Kubernetes and Kafka. Prior participation in an on-call rotation is also expected. Experience with observability platforms, internal developer platforms, developer productivity solutions, operational tooling, or artificial intelligence-powered engineering workflows is considered beneficial.
