Sr. Software Engineer, Cloud Platform
Overview
Samsara is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Cloud Platform team within the infrastructure organization. The role focuses on evolving cloud foundations to reduce production risks, improve resilience, increase cost efficiency, and support organizational growth at scale across a multi-account and multi-region AWS environment.
Requirements
Applicants must have six or more years of experience designing and building software, infrastructure, or distributed systems, alongside practical experience operating critical systems in production. Candidates need deep expertise in at least one infrastructure domain, which includes compute and workload orchestration, networking, storage and stateful systems, or cloud infrastructure control planes. Additional prerequisites include software engineering fundamentals in languages such as Go, Python, or Java, hands-on experience with major public cloud platforms with a preference for AWS, and experience using infrastructure as code tools like Terraform. A strong understanding of capacity management, failure domains, observability, rollout safety, and production recovery is necessary, as well as a demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives. A bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is also required.
