Software Engineer

Overview

Catonetworks is hiring a Software Engineer based in London, United Kingdom. The role involves working on a converged network and security cloud platform designed for the AI era. Responsibilities include the end-to-end development of backend services, designing scalable platform capabilities, and building high-performance systems to collect, aggregate, and analyze network statistics. The selected candidate will collaborate with product management, research, automation, and other development teams to define, research, adopt, and integrate new technologies and solutions into the existing platform.

Who can apply

Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from a recognized university and possess at least six years of experience in backend development using technologies such as Java, Go, Play Framework, or Spring Boot. Candidates need strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis, alongside proven experience building and operating high-scale, production-grade SaaS microservices. A solid understanding of software engineering principles, system design, scalability, and secure enterprise-grade system design is required, along with hands-on experience with continuous integration pipelines, service-level testing, and monitoring. Additional frontend experience with React and TypeScript is considered an advantage. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, a fast learner, independent, and an excellent problem solver.
