Overview

Archer56 is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Android to join its AI Products organization. The role is based in South East Hampshire. The AI Products organization develops consumer software for the general aviation industry, building real products that ship and are used by people daily.

Requirements

Applicants must have 7 or more years of software engineering experience, primarily focused on user-facing client software that has shipped in the Play Store. Candidates need a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, solid Kotlin experience, and sufficient familiarity with compose to form opinions about it. Real zero-to-one experience building the first version of something is required, along with comfort working with ambiguity. Candidates should also be fluent with agentic coding tools and AI-assisted development, such as Claude Code. Additional beneficial qualifications include the ability to write Swift, web frontend experience with technologies like React, full stack experience, and a background of shipping in a regulated or safety-adjacent industry.
