Girls Not Brides: The Global Partnership to End Child Marriage is recruiting a Development Officer for its Development and Outreach team. The role suits an early-career fundraising professional wanting experience in prospecting, proposal development, donor stewardship and fundraising operations. Girls Not Brides brings together more than 1,400 organisations in nearly 100 countries working to end child, early and forced marriages and unions. The Development Officer joins a small team, reports to the Development Manager and helps carry out the fundraising strategy. The post is full-time on a two-year fixed-term contract, based in Nairobi, Kenya or New Delhi, India. Candidates need the right to work in Kenya or India for the whole contract.
What the role involves
The officer tracks fundraising deadlines and reporting requirements, keeps donor and prospect records, supports fundraising workflows and systems, and helps improve team processes. They research and identify funders, monitor funding opportunities, support prospect qualification, maintain the pipeline, run donor due diligence and research funding trends on child marriage and gender equality. They also support non-grant income, contribute to proposals and concept notes, support renewals and compliance, help prepare narrative and financial reports, and support donor events and meetings, along with internal communications, safeguarding, diversity and inclusion and data protection.
Who can apply
Essential requirements are experience in a development, fundraising or partnerships role in the not-for-profit sector, strong organisation, project management and attention to detail, the ability to manage several workstreams, CRM or database experience, experience contributing to proposals, donor reports or fundraising communications, excellent writing and interpersonal skills, research ability, commitment to the mission, sound judgement and flexibility across time zones. Desirable experience includes work on child marriage, girls' rights or gender equality, knowledge of charity fundraising trends, international organisation experience and Canva.

The salary is competitive, set from a survey of comparable national NGO salaries and paid in local currency.
