Overview

This remote role supports humanitarian and development programmes across multiple countries, focusing on financial management throughout the full programme and award lifecycle. The position serves as a finance business partner to country programmes and involves working with the Program Finance Director, Country Finance Managers, Programme Desks, Awards Management, and Partnerships teams. Responsibilities include reviewing proposal budgets, monitoring budget-versus-actual performance, supporting donor submissions, ensuring donor compliance, and providing training to country teams. The role may involve up to 20 percent international travel.

Who can apply

The position is open to experienced finance professionals based in any Relief International country of operation, with a preference for candidates working between the UK and Jordan time zones. Applicants must hold a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, along with significant experience in programme finance, grant financial management, and donor-funded awards within an international nonprofit or non-governmental organization. Candidates need strong written and verbal English communication skills, high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management systems, and experience with donor compliance, proposal budget development, financial reporting, and supporting country finance teams. Knowledge of Arabic or French, as well as experience with Oracle NetSuite and grant monitoring systems, are considered advantages.
