Overview

Axiom is hiring a Data Scientist, Manager to lead the development of innovative artificial intelligence, machine learning, and statistical solutions designed to optimize the organization's proprietary legal talent matchmaking platform. While the company currently relies mostly on manual matchmaking by staff, this position aims to advance automation and bridge the gap between complex data and business outcomes. The role is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a bachelor degree in a quantitative field and possess at least three years of SQL proficiency alongside two years of experience in data modeling, ETL development, data warehousing, and software engineering best practices including version control, CI/CD, and object-oriented programming. Candidates need a minimum of two years of hands-on experience in statistical analysis and machine learning modeling using Python, as well as two years researching and developing natural language processing projects, which must include at least one year incorporating Large Language Models and Agentic AI. Furthermore, candidates are required to have two years of independent experience leading projects through their entire lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployed solutions and reporting, alongside strong stakeholder management and autonomy. Preferred qualifications include holding a master degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline, experience with Databricks, Snowflake, AWS big data processing technologies, and familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and GitLab.
