Sustainability and Public Affairs Intern (Paris )

Back Market is offering a full-time internship on the Impact team, focusing on a dual mission that encompasses both sustainability and public affairs initiatives. The intern will gain a comprehensive perspective on driving systemic corporate change through internal environmental practices and external policy advocacy. The position is based in Paris or Bordeaux, France, operating within a hybrid work environment that allows for two remote days per week, one remote work week per quarter, and three flex days.

Requirements

Applicants must be currently pursuing a Master's degree in Sustainability, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Environmental Studies, Law, Political Science, or a related field. Candidates need an internship agreement from a French school. Essential qualifications include the ability to read and understand the law and policy-making processes in France and Europe, strong analytical and research capabilities, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency in English and French in both written and spoken forms. Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for database management and tracking, along with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable formats, is required. Helpful additional knowledge includes familiarity with B Corp certification, EU legislative processes, and experience with data visualization tools.

How to apply
