Overview

Upvest provides an investment API that lets fintechs and financial institutions offer investment and retirement products, working with partners such as DKB, Revolut, N26 and Raisin. From 1 January 2027 the Altersvorsorgedepot replaces the Riester-Rente as Germany's state-subsidised private pension, and Upvest is building the operational infrastructure that lets fintechs and banks offer it. The company is offering a Client Experience internship in its Operations department in Berlin, starting before launch so that the intern helps design the processes and then runs them once live.

What you will do

The intern supports clients by helping prepare clear, accurate answers to questions that partners' support teams receive from end users about subsidies, transfers and payouts, translating dense regulation into language a customer can act on. They also support day-to-day operations such as contract registration with the central pension subsidy office, contribution management, the annual bonus application and payment reconciliation, help document workflows and error catalogues, work through recurring error cases to find root causes, and suggest improvements to manual processes.

Requirements

Applicants need fluent German at B2 or C1 and comfortable working English, since the regulation, correspondence and most documentation are in German. They should be structured and precise, curious about rules, comfortable with ambiguity, and confident with spreadsheets and AI tools. Experience in financial services or regulated environments is a bonus. Availability is for at least six months, and candidates must be based in Berlin.

What you get

Interns work on a new regulated financial product with modern technology, join company events such as UpFest, dinners and offsites, and can take part in employee resource groups.
