Overview

The NOHA Erasmus Mundus Scholarship 2027-2029 is offered with the support of the European Union and runs for two years across various universities in Europe. The program adopts a holistic study approach combining theoretical and analytical knowledge and skills in humanitarian action, providing specialized postgraduate education and trilingual education options in English, French, and Spanish. Scholars participate in mandatory physical mobility involving study periods across different countries, beginning with an introductory program and common courses at the home university during the first semester, followed by in-depth knowledge at a host university during the second semester, regional training or work placement in the third semester, and research and thesis completion in the fourth semester.

Who can apply

The program invites students from across the world who have interest, background knowledge, and experience in the field of humanitarian action. Candidates must have obtained at least a university first-cycle degree in a relevant field, such as medical sciences, food sciences, economics and management, engineering, law, social sciences, education sciences, or humanities. Applicants must have graduated before the application deadline and must meet the specific admission requirements of the NOHA universities. Students who have already availed an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master scholarship are not eligible to apply.

What you get

Selected students receive a scholarship amount of 1,400 euros per month for 24 months, which covers travelling, visa, installation, and subsistence costs. Scholars gain the opportunity to study at different partner universities in Europe, exchange ideas, languages, and cultures with fellow scholars, and develop professional skills and competencies.

Requirements

Applicants must follow the joint application procedure set by the NOHA consortium and provide evidence of proficiency in the language of instruction of their selected universities, which includes English at C1 level, Spanish at B2 level, or French at C1 level. Native English speakers from English-speaking countries or those whose BA program instruction was in English are exempt from the English test. Candidates planning to study at the University of Deusto for the first semester need Spanish proficiency, while those planning to study at Aix Marseille University need French proficiency. All selected students must carry out mandatory physical mobility with at least two study periods in two different countries, with at least one being an EU Member State or third country affiliated to the program, and neither being the student's residence country at enrollment. Required application documents include a copy of the passport, Bachelor degree diploma and academic transcripts, Master degree diploma and transcripts if applicable, a CV in English preferably in Europass format, official proof of language proficiency, two signed and dated recommendation letters in English, proof of residence, and publications if any.

How to apply

Applicants must submit a complete online application through the online system before the deadline by fulfilling all criteria and providing necessary data. The process involves selecting first-semester home university enrollment preferences and second-semester host university preferences, filling out personal information, contact details, academic history and data, employment history, language competence details, and the contact details of two referees. Candidates must also write a motivation statement, provide details about any special circumstances, write an information abstract, indicate how they learned about the opportunity, upload compulsory attachments, and agree to the terms and conditions before submitting.

Key dates

The application deadline is 15th December 2026.
