Overview

The Erasmus Mundus Journalism Master’s Degree Scholarship runs for two years from 2027 to 2029. The program brings together multicultural journalists and students from around the world to study at at least two European universities. During the first year, students attend Aarhus University in Denmark. For the second year, participants study at one of the designated specialization universities, with host countries spanning Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and the United Kingdom.

The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on journalistic training. Students receive guidance from leading researchers, attend workshops, and gain access to career services, including an exclusive career workshop prior to graduation. The program is designed to build analytical insights and skills to address challenges related to media, globalization, and journalism.

What you get

Selected participants receive a full tuition waiver for the duration of the two-year program. A monthly allowance of 1400 euros is provided for 24 months to help cover travel, visa, installation, and living costs. In addition, students receive free health and civil liability insurance coverage.

Who can apply

Applicants must hold a three-year bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study and possess a minimum of three months of journalistic experience. Non-native English speakers must provide proof of English language proficiency. Candidates must also meet the formal admission requirements for the Mundus Journalism program.

Individuals who have already completed a two-year master’s degree are not eligible to apply. Furthermore, candidates who have previously received an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship cannot apply for another scholarship.
