Overview

The Skoll Scholarship at the University of Oxford is an initiative hosted by the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at Saïd Business School. It is designed for experienced social entrepreneurs who want to strengthen their leadership capabilities, expand their impact, and address complex social and environmental challenges by pursuing an Oxford MBA.

Who can apply

The programme targets individuals who have founded, co-founded, or played a significant role in developing social ventures to tackle deep-rooted challenges through entrepreneurial initiatives. Ideal candidates demonstrate entrepreneurial leadership, take a systemic approach to problem-solving, and show humility, collaboration, and a commitment to positive change. The selection process particularly encourages applications from women social entrepreneurs, individuals from historically underrepresented communities, candidates from the Global South, and social innovators working in underserved communities.

What you get

Successful recipients receive full coverage of Oxford MBA course fees along with partial support towards living expenses. Scholars also gain membership in the global Skoll Scholar community, access to lifelong learning opportunities and networks, and connections with social entrepreneurs, innovators, and impact-focused leaders worldwide.

Requirements

Applicants are evaluated based on three main selection areas. These include demonstrating entrepreneurial experience through building or advancing initiatives that create measurable social or environmental impact, showing changemaking qualities such as a commitment to systemic problem-solving and collaborative leadership, and explaining how the Oxford MBA and Skoll Centre network will be leveraged to expand their impact.

How to apply

Candidates must apply directly to Saïd Business School for admission to the Oxford MBA programme during admission stages 1, 2, 3, or 4. The scholarship application is integrated into this process and requires completing and submitting responses to the Skoll Scholarship essay questions. Admitted candidates are automatically considered for the scholarship, and shortlisted individuals receive instructions for additional forms and references before final candidates participate in online interviews with the Skoll Scholarship Selection Committee.
