Work Remotely/Home-based as a Communications, Advocacy and Regional Engagement Consultant at the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (PMNCH)
Overview
The Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (PMNCH) is seeking a Communications, Advocacy and Regional Engagement Consultant to support its global communications, advocacy and regional work. It is a part-time, remote, home-based consultancy of two days per week for one year, with the possibility of extension and an immediate start. The consultant must keep at least four hours of overlap with Central European Time. A significant task is developing the PMNCH annual report from start to finish, alongside other communications products.
What the role involves
On communications and media, the consultant writes, edits and proofreads digital and print material, builds relationships with journalists, editors and outlets, finds and pitches media opportunities, develops human-interest stories, manages the communications calendar, coordinates content across X, BlueSky, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram, edits partner content and supports co-produced blogs, interviews and Voices pieces. On advocacy, they coordinate the United MNCH Advocacy Working Group, including meetings and follow-up, and help produce advocacy briefs, talking points, position papers and evidence products aligned with PMNCH's financing, accountability and regional campaigns. On regional engagement, they oversee selected activities from planning to reporting, which may include policy dialogues with governments and partners, policy briefs and capacity-building workshops, with regional focal points.
Requirements
Applicants need strong experience in communications, advocacy and stakeholder engagement, excellent writing and editing, media relationships and a record of securing coverage. They should have experience supporting advocacy coalitions, designing and delivering workshops, facilitating policy dialogues, writing policy briefs, managing social accounts and editorial calendars, and strong project management. Familiarity with content management systems, Mailchimp, Typeform, Brand24, Looker Studio, Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is an advantage. English fluency is required and French is an advantage.
Who can apply
It suits communications professionals, advocacy and policy communications specialists and regional engagement professionals, ideally with global health, development or international policy experience, who can work independently.
