Overview
University College London is hiring a full-time, fixed-term Research Fellow in Climate Change and Public Health within the Institute for Global Health. This hybrid position is based in London and is available until 30 April 2029 in the first instance. The role involves contributing to the health research and academic activities of the Lancet Countdown, supporting the development and evaluation of indicators that measure climate change health impacts, and analyzing epidemiological evidence for annual global reports, regional reports, and special issues. Additional duties include researching climate change mitigation and adaptation health benefits, working within multidisciplinary teams, and communicating findings to academic and non-academic audiences.

Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent working experience in climate change and global health, epidemiology, or a closely related discipline. Candidates are required to have research experience in a relevant field, a track record of contributing to or leading peer-reviewed academic publications, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience working within multidisciplinary academic teams. Essential technical qualifications include experience with epidemiological modelling and intermediate proficiency in R or a similar programming language. Environmental epidemiological modelling experience is considered particularly desirable. Candidates must also be able to communicate scientific evidence clearly to non-academic audiences and must be living in the UK or willing to relocate for the duration of the contract.
What you get
The position provides a salary between £46,261 and £54,019 per year, which includes the London Allowance and depends on experience. The full-time role requires 36.5 hours per week. Requirements
