Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Overview

Spire is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join its Platform team in supporting Spacecraft Operations. The role involves working with a fast-paced environment where the design-to-launch cycle operates in weeks and months. The Platform team collaborates directly with various engineering groups to conduct research and development, design, manufacturing, and operations activities to ensure spacecraft systems meet their mission requirements.

Requirements

Applicants need a bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, along with mastery of the Embedded C programming language and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash. Candidates must have extensive experience with real-time operating systems, specifically FreeRTOS, as well as familiarity with serial protocols and implementations. Additional requirements include strong problem-solving and debugging skills for embedded systems, experience with Git version control, experience developing on Linux in Ubuntu, a base level of mathematical knowledge, and strong communication and teamwork abilities.
