Overview

Save the Children is hiring a full-time Lead Associate, Education, on a remote basis in Texas. The position sits in the Impact and Evidence division, which supports children in rural America in building strong foundations for learning. Its education programmes serve children from birth through elementary school, with attention to kindergarten readiness and literacy and mathematics proficiency. The post reports to the Assistant State Director. Applicants must be based in Texas, with preference for East Texas and the Houston region, and travel within Texas is up to 40% of the time.

About 55% of the role is programme implementation. The Lead Associate guides programme staff in applying Save the Children's education models, provides remote and in-person training and technical assistance, visits sites to observe, coach and mentor staff and write site visit reports, and helps keep data collection and reporting accurate.

About 20% is partner management, covering annual partner planning, subaward budgets and spending, grant budgets and reports, stakeholder meetings and partnership performance, plus assessing new sites and helping with hiring, training and onboarding. About 25% is capacity building, including meetings with school district staff, technical assistance, onsite and virtual training, analysis of programme data, action plans for underperforming sites and a trainee database.

Requirements

Applicants need at least a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three years of experience delivering literacy, reading or mathematics programmes. They also need professional proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong written and spoken English, good communication and collaboration skills, and working knowledge of financial and subgrant management. A valid driver's license may be required. A bachelor's degree in education is preferred, along with professional Spanish, experience leading elementary education training, coaching adults and managing budgets.

The target base salary is 65,450 to 73,150 dollars for Geo 2 locations and 59,500 to 66,500 dollars for Geo 3 locations, varying with experience and location.
