Overview

Resetting the Table is offering a senior leadership position as Managing Director, Entertainment to oversee its Entertainment program and help reduce societal polarization through storytelling and constructive dialogue. The organization works across the United States to address toxic division, reaching more than 100,000 participants through training, media content, and its Multivocal Storytelling framework.

This is a full-time remote role within the contiguous United States, with a preference for candidates based in or near Los Angeles, California. The position involves team supervision, strategy execution, operational oversight, and alumni engagement, along with employee benefits, periodic travel, and occasional evening and weekend commitments.

Who can apply

Applicants should have professional experience in or alongside the entertainment industry, understanding how projects move from development through production. Candidates must have a strong record of managing teams, supporting experienced professionals, and coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.

Ideal applicants demonstrate the ability to translate broad strategic priorities into clear objectives, build systems that improve planning and accountability, and work closely with senior executives. Candidates are also expected to show a commitment to reducing societal division and supporting storytelling that promotes authenticity, dignity, and understanding across differences.

What you get

The position offers an annual salary ranging from $125,000 to $155,000, depending on experience. Employee benefits include health insurance, life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, and paid parental leave.

Additional benefits comprise generous vacation, sick, and personal leave, paid time off for federal and religious holidays, a 403(b) retirement plan with a 3% employer contribution, and reimbursement of up to $1,000 for home-office expenses.

Requirements

The role requires candidates to manage team operations for roughly 50 percent of the time by supervising three experienced leaders, holding regular meetings, establishing accountability practices, and supporting collaboration. Approximately 30 percent of the work involves translating strategies into workplans, overseeing systems for tracking progress, and collaborating with the development team to document outcomes for funders.

The remaining 20 percent of the work focuses on strengthening relationships with the alumni network across the entertainment industry by developing engagement systems and collaboration opportunities. Applicants based outside of Los Angeles must be prepared for periodic travel to Los Angeles and occasional travel elsewhere, as well as availability for selected evening events scheduled according to Pacific Time.

How to apply

Interested candidates must submit a resume, a cover letter, and responses to two short-answer questions. The cover letter should detail the applicant's interest in the organization's mission and explain why their background makes them suitable for the role.

Applicants must also provide a substantial paragraph answering two specific prompts regarding their approach to people management with a supporting example, and a description of a past partnership with a senior leader to turn strategic vision into action. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
