Overview

Seefar invites applications for the position of Referral Coordination Officer under the Raising Awareness of the Dangers of Irregular Migration II project. The project operates across six governorates in Federal Iraq, namely Baghdad, Basra, Dhi Qar, Babylon, Nineveh, and Al-Muthanna, with the goal of reducing irregular migration by helping young people understand the risks of unsafe routes while providing information on alternative opportunities.

The successful candidate will manage referrals, connect individuals with appropriate support services, and monitor referral outcomes. This is a remote, part-time opportunity with a contract duration running from mid-November 2026 to mid-April 2027.

Who can apply

Applicants must reside in one of the six Federal Iraq governorates covered by the project, as individuals living outside these locations may not meet the geographical eligibility requirements. Candidates are also required to be fluent in both Arabic and English.

What you get

The position offers a monthly compensation of £800, which is approximately US$1,000, for an average workload of around 20 working hours per week. The total compensation over the five-month contract period is approximately £4,000, subject to agreed contract terms and actual engagement periods.

Requirements

Candidates should hold a bachelor degree in social work, psychology, sociology, development studies, or a related field, though equivalent practical experience may be considered. Applicants must demonstrate at least two years of experience in case management, referrals, community outreach, or related work, with experience working with young people considered highly desirable.

Additional advantages include experience in migration, livelihoods, protection, youth development, and psychosocial support. Candidates need good knowledge of local service providers, NGOs, and support organisations operating in the six project governorates, alongside strong communication, interpersonal, organisational, and independent remote working skills. Furthermore, applicants must understand confidentiality, informed consent, and safeguarding principles, and have experience maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and referral records.

How to apply

Interested candidates who meet the geographical, language, and professional experience requirements must complete the official application form through Seefar recruitment channels.

Key dates

The application deadline is 7 November 2026 at 11:59 PM. The contract is expected to run from mid-November 2026 to mid-April 2027.
