Overview

GitLab is hiring a Professional Services Technical Architect to lead the technical direction of customer engagements from early scoping and discovery through final delivery. This is a remote role based in the United Kingdom, requiring up to fifty percent travel at times. The position involves designing high-level architectures and implementation plans for GitLab infrastructure, ensuring that all deliverables align with customer requirements and the Statement of Work.

Requirements

Applicants must have strong written and verbal communication skills to lead technical discussions with customers and partners in an asynchronous environment. The role requires demonstrated experience delivering at least two specific consulting services, such as source code management migration, cloud architecture, DevOps engineering, or continuous integration and continuous delivery consulting. Candidates need enterprise software development experience to translate requirements into clear technical designs, along with progressive DevOps platform experience for designing reliable and scalable systems.

Candidates must possess hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure in both cloud providers and on-premises environments utilizing tools like Terraform and Ansible. The ability to write clean, maintainable automation and integration code and validate changes through testing is necessary. Additional requirements include experience performing migrations to GitLab using tools such as Congregate, working knowledge of data consistency and integrity concepts, and strong organizational and problem-solving skills to manage multiple priorities independently.
