Plan International Opens Global Recruitment for Education in Emergencies Specialist Roster – Apply by 8 August 2026
Overview
Plan International is recruiting experienced Education in Emergencies (EiE) Specialists for its global humanitarian emergency response roster. Roster members can be deployed rapidly to crisis-affected regions for assignments of up to three months, supporting responses to disasters, conflicts and displacement crises. Spanish-speaking professionals are especially encouraged because of anticipated needs in the Venezuela humanitarian response.
Specialists provide technical leadership for emergency education programming aligned with humanitarian standards, with girls' rights, inclusion and child protection at the centre. Tasks include leading rapid education needs assessments, supporting Multi-Sector Needs Assessments, designing emergency education programmes, coordinating with local partners, monitoring programme quality, building frontline staff capacity, integrating education with child protection, nutrition, food security and cash and voucher assistance, representing Plan International in Education Cluster mechanisms and supporting advocacy.
Who can apply
The roster is for humanitarian professionals with substantial experience leading emergency education work across multiple contexts, from assessment through implementation. Relevant experience includes humanitarian coordination, emergency response management, capacity strengthening, partnership and proposal development, donor-funded programme management, monitoring and evaluation, and team leadership.
Requirements
English proficiency is expected, and bilingual candidates, particularly in English and Spanish or English and French, receive particular consideration. Candidates should have experience securing and managing funding from public and private donors, working with Education Clusters and governments, strategic planning, strong safeguarding knowledge and a commitment to preventing sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment. Completion of Hostile Environment Awareness Training or an equivalent security course within the past three years is expected.
What you get
Roster membership itself is unpaid, but specialists deployed receive a competitive salary, per diem allowances, accommodation and international travel expenses. Members also get online humanitarian learning, regular contact with the Deployment Manager and professional development resources between deployments.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so earlier submissions can be considered before the closing date.
