Mercy Corps is recruiting a Senior Compensation and Benefits Advisor for its People Team. The full-time role can be based in the United Kingdom or the Netherlands. The annual starting salary is £60,030 in the United Kingdom or €70,920 in the Netherlands, with the final offer based on professional experience.
Mercy Corps is an international humanitarian and development organization working with communities affected by conflict, poverty, climate change and economic instability in dozens of countries. The role focuses on designing and implementing competitive compensation, benefits and performance management frameworks across Europe while supporting global initiatives.
What the role involves
Working with senior leadership, HR professionals and regional teams, the advisor helps build total rewards programmes that link employee performance to organizational goals. Tasks include designing compensation and benefits programmes, developing salary structures and grading frameworks, and carrying out market benchmarking and salary analysis.
The advisor also supports performance management systems, advises leadership on workforce planning and organizational design, leads continuous improvement of total rewards programmes, supports global mobility, builds dashboards and reporting tools for compensation analysis, and ensures compliance with employment legislation across European countries. Occasional international travel is possible.
Requirements
Applicants should have at least five years of relevant professional experience in compensation, benefits or total rewards, preferably gained in the private sector, investment firms, development banks or international organizations. A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or a related field is preferred.
The role needs strong project management, analytical and communication skills, knowledge of compensation design, salary benchmarking and job evaluation experience, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to work independently and adapt in fast-changing environments.
