Overview

The Lead Exposure Elimination Project (LEEP) is looking for a Regional Head for Francophone Africa to lead a team of Program Managers and drive the growth and quality of its programmes in the region. LEEP is an evidence-based nonprofit working to eliminate childhood lead poisoning, focusing on lead paint, contaminated spices and traditional eyeliners. Since 2020 it has grown to programmes in more than 40 countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America.

The post is full-time and remote, open to candidates in time zones from UTC-5 to UTC+3, with about 8 to 12 weeks of travel per year. It starts as soon as possible.

What you get

Salary depends on location and experience. Indicative annual ranges include US$87,743 to $97,829 for New York, 60,204 to 67,124 pounds for London, 61,185 to 68,218 euros for Paris, XOF 36,139,150 to 40,293,075 for Dakar, XOF 35,892,346 to 40,017,903 for Abidjan and FCFA 36,703,273 to 40,922,040 for Yaounde. LEEP's team of more than 60 people works remotely across five continents with an annual in-person retreat and flexible schedules.

What the role involves

About 40 percent of the job is strategic programme guidance: reviewing Program Managers' plans, supporting teams during country visits and milestones, troubleshooting, acting as an escalation point for government officials and managing regional budgets. Another 40 percent is managing three to five Program Managers through coaching, accountability, one-to-ones and performance reviews. Fifteen percent goes to strengthening the paint-program playbook and internal systems, and five percent to special projects.

Who can apply

Applicants need at least five years of relevant experience, a record of managing and developing teams, strong strategic planning and project management, coaching and feedback skills, stakeholder engagement and influencing ability, and experience in low- and middle-income countries or with governments. Experience managing remote teams, willingness to travel and full professional proficiency in English and French are required.

Key dates

The application deadline is 27 September 2026.
