The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is hiring a New Roots Farm Coordinator in Phoenix, Arizona. The full-time, in-person role pays 26.78 dollars per hour and runs through 31 December 2027. The coordinator reports to the New Roots Program Manager and coordinates interns and programme volunteers. The IRC is a global humanitarian organisation founded in 1933 that works in more than 40 countries and 29 US cities. New Roots works with farmers, community members, volunteers and partner organisations.

Requirements
Applicants need an undergraduate degree in agricultural sciences, agronomy, environmental sciences, agricultural business or a related field, or equivalent education and experience, plus at least three years of agriculture experience, with diversified vegetable production and sustainable or organic farming preferred. They must be able to operate and maintain tractors, tillers, mowers and trimmers, work independently, be fluent in English, communicate across cultures and with people with limited English, and use Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook. Web-based data system experience is an advantage. A valid driver's licence, active auto insurance and reliable transportation are required, along with an Arizona fingerprint clearance card or eligibility to obtain one. The job involves outdoor work in varying weather, lifting up to 50 pounds, regular travel and some Saturday and weekday evening work.
Duties include managing farm equipment, irrigation and wash stations, running the aquaponics greenhouse including tilapia, land management planning, food safety compliance, delivering farmer training on crop planning, soil health, pest management, irrigation and post-harvest handling, visiting partner farms, tracking crop, harvest, sales and aquaponics data, supporting grant reporting, building partnerships with groups such as the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension, Local First Arizona and the Natural Resources Conservation Service, and coordinating outreach and volunteer days.
