Head of Engineering, Sales Management Tools
Overview
Moniepoint is offering a position as Head of Engineering, Sales Management Tools, based in the United Kingdom with remote work arrangements available. The role involves leading the engineering efforts behind MonieCRM, which operates as the workforce and platform operations system for a large field sales network. The domain covers legacy modernisation, platform reliability, financial transactions, partner management, a rewards and retention platform, and a marketing technology stack.
Requirements
Applicants need 10 to 15 years of overall software engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases and at least 5 years of hands-on, production-level experience writing and shipping Java code. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience managing managers, leading an engineering organisation through other engineering leaders rather than a single team. Proven platform engineering experience at scale, including building and running complex distributed systems and navigating legacy migrations and re-architecture projects at a scale of over 20 million users, is required. Strong backend engineering skills in high-throughput, data-intensive distributed systems using Java and Spring Boot, alongside experience managing engineering teams of 20 or more members, are necessary. Experience with financial systems, fintech, or payments backgrounds is strongly preferred, while CRM or SalesTech experience is not required.
How to apply
The hiring process consists of multiple rounds including a 60-minute high-level system design round with an engineering manager, a 60-minute panel interview with two head of engineering leaders focusing on a technical deep dive and leadership attributes, a 60-minute stakeholder management round with a product head or VP, and a 60-minute technical and culture fit interview with the co-founder and group CTO.
