Overview
The Global Diversity Foundation (GDF) is hiring a Finance Manager to lead its Finance team and provide strategic financial oversight. The post is permanent, full-time at 35 hours per week and remote, with occasional travel. GDF works with changemakers and communities to support biocultural diversity, justice, healing and belonging, and has worked with Indigenous and local communities for more than two decades.

What the role involves
The Finance Manager heads the team alongside a Finance Officer and sits on the Leadership Team, giving financial analysis and advice for strategic decisions and working with programme teams, trustees, donors and auditors. Duties include supervising day-to-day operations, making sure payments, payroll and tax submissions are accurate and on time, preparing statements under the Charities SORP and acting as a bank signatory. The manager supports programme finance through budgets, spending monitoring and report reviews, prepares donor reports, supervises partner audits and contributes to fundraising proposals, budgets, financial modelling and scenario planning. The role also covers annual budgeting and forecasting, cash flow and liquidity, risk management and finance policies.
Requirements
Applicants need a recognised professional accountancy qualification or substantial equivalent experience in a senior charity finance role, strong knowledge of charity SORP, statutory reporting, auditing and financial controls, and knowledge of UK charity finance regulation. Experience in payroll, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow is expected. Senior financial management experience in a charity or non-profit is preferred. Experience with donor-funded projects, international programmes, multiple currencies and external auditors is useful, as are strong technical accounting, analytical, organisational and communication skills. Familiarity with QuickBooks and Zoho Books is an advantage.
