What you will do
Working with the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, the director builds and runs a Major Gifts strategy tied to organisational priorities, sets annual and multi-year revenue targets, manages donor pipelines through identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, and develops ways to retain donors, raise giving levels and secure multi-year commitments. The director is a fundraising partner to the CEO, Board and senior leaders, prepares them for donor meetings, uses Board networks to find prospects, represents the Foundation at global health and philanthropy events, builds ties with philanthropic collaboratives and family foundations, and works with Communications on speaking and publication opportunities.
Requirements
Candidates need a Bachelor's degree, with a Master's or certification preferred, and at least 10 years of progressive experience in fundraising, advancement, business development or strategic partnerships. A record of securing six-figure gifts is required, and gifts of $500,000 or more are strongly preferred. Experience building or expanding a Major Gifts programme, working with high-net-worth individuals and families, using donor data and CRM systems to forecast revenue, and working across global, multicultural settings is expected. Global health or international development experience is preferred.
